Mr. Honda performs a composition of mine, "Sai, Inishie" ~on Ancient Red, Ni~ in Japan. This piece was commissioned by Mana Washio, flutist and Fumito Nunoya, percussionist, and premiered on the exactly same date in 2010. The ancient color concept is very different from the modern one. I learned that ancient red color, called "Ni," had a special meaning. I was fascinated to express colors with sound of marimba.
